Upcycling House at the Depot Shop
Do you have a passion for homeware and upcycled furniture? We are looking for volunteers to join us Monday to Saturday.
Upcycling House at the Depot Shop
Upcycling House at The Depot is a destination lifestyle shop selling upcycled furniture, vintage homewares and handmade gifts.
As a volunteer in our shop, you will play an important role in raising vital funds for Garden House Hospice Care. You will work alongside other volunteers and staff members to ensure that the shop runs smoothly, providing excellent customer service and generating revenue, to help us support our local community.
The role requires volunteers to provide a friendly welcome to members of the public, receive their donations and support with the gift aid process. You will research furniture and homeware, looking for high value items to display. There will also be the opportunity to be trained on the till, however, this is not compulsory.
We are looking for volunteers to join us on a day and shift to suit you, between 9am - 4.30pm Monday to Saturday.
What we need from you…
- An interest in furniture and homeware would be helpful but not essential
- A commitment to Garden House Hospice Care’s mission and values
- Attention to detail and the ability to organise donated items effectively
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a team and follow directions from staff members.
This role will provide you with…
- The knowledge that you have supported a worthy cause and made a difference in your community
- Valuable retail and customer service experience
- The opportunity to meet new people and work as part of a friendly and supportive team
- The ability to help reduce negative environmental impact by providing an affordable, ethical and sustainable alternative to landfill.
Training and support…
- You will undertake both in-store and online training, to ensure that you can carry out your role safely and confidently
- Support will be provided by our staff members and other volunteers, who will be available to answer your questions and offer guidance when required.
