Charlie Chicks
Get your hands on our knitted chicks stuffed with a Creme Egg! All sales are donated toward providing free palliative care in North Hertfordshire and beyond.
Every year, our Charlie Chicks campaign spreads joy across North Hertfordshire and surrounding villages in Central Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. The cheerful chicks, each knitted and crocheted by keen volunteers, are stuffed with Creme Eggs and then sold in schools, shops and beyond in our local community to raise vital funds.
This campaign raises around £18,000 a year for Garden House Hospice Care with every penny donated to the support we give to our patients, families and carers facing life-limiting illnesses. To achieve this, we need as many Charlie Chicks knitted, stuffed and purchased throughout the year.
Our thanks goes to DLRC Ltd for their continued support in providing the Creme Eggs, all our volunteer knitters and crocheters, and the Friends of Garden House Hospice Care for organising much of the logistics.

How to knit a Charlie Chick
Are you a dab hand with a knitting needle? Then we need you! Charlie Chicks is only a success thanks to the generosity of knitters across North Hertfordshire creating them. The more we make, the more we can sell, the more money we raise for our patients.
Please find the knitting patterns below. Once you have knitted your chicks, please drop them to us at the Hospice, The Depot or your nearest shop.
