Sunset Starlight Walk
Join us on Saturday 13th September at our annual Sunset Starlight Walk, where every step walked is a step toward funding our specialist care. The 6.5 mile circular route starts and finishes at Letchworth Hall hotel, taking in acres of countryside and surrounding villages as the sun sets and the stars come out.
In addition to the sunset, there will be 'light' and 'sound' shows along the way, including our spectacular tunnel of lights. We also encourage walkers to help light up the night by wearing glowsticks and fancy dress, and bring some form of 'proper' lighting such as a torch/headtorch.
Sunset Starlight Walk is a 'walk to remember', whether you're walking to celebrate the lives of those no longer with us or make new memories… or a perhaps a bit of both! It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a late summer's evening, walk and talk with loved ones, and connect with the local community. Four-legged friends are also welcome to join in the fun.
A key fundraiser for Garden House Hospice Care, this event is one not to be missed and is suitable for all abilities. Grab your friends, family, colleagues, walking group or sports club and sign up for Sunset Starlight Walk today.

Sponsorship
It costs £7.7 million a year to provide our specialist care free of charge to the local community. That means we need to raise £15,300 a day in charitable income.
Sunset Starlight Walk is a sponsored walk and we are hopeful that the event will raise enough to fund our entire services for two days. Here are some targets you could aim for and what they might pay for:
- £107 could pay for an activity from our Rehab and Wellbeing team, such as a physiotherapy appointment or Tai Chi class
- £220 could cover all the refreshments at one of our Wellbeing Hubs for a whole year
- £569 could fund 24 hours of attentive care for one patient on the Inpatient Unit helping to ease symptoms and making them comfortable
- £774 could pay for a day of home visits from our Hospice at Home community team.
