A family of fundraisers

A family from Stevenage are taking on challenge after challenge to raise vital funds for Garden House Hospice Care.

Joanne Muzaci, brother-in-law Richard and niece Emily previously took on a parachute jump in memory of Joanne's mother, Patricia, who passed away at the Hospice a few years ago.

"As a family, we always wanted to do a skydive, so we found it was the perfect opportunity," Joanne told us. "When my mum was ill and placed in the Hospice's care, they reassured us and helped her and us as a family along the way.

"They always made sure she had the best care and calmed any worries we had. We want to raise money for the Hospice as we want them to be able to help others just like us."

Now, Joanne's husband Eric and daughter Verona are training for the Cambridge Half Marathon in March. They are hoping to raise £2,000 for the Hospice and give back to the charity so close to their hearts.

To anyone else considering fundraising for the Hospice, Joanne advised: "Just do it! Think about what you want to do, even if it's the smallest thing, and always stay organised and on top of what you're doing."

A huge, hospice thank you goes to the whole family for supporting Garden House Hospice Care and helping us continue to provide free, end-of-life care in our local community. Put simply, without the efforts of you and others, we wouldn't be here.
