Christmas Treecycling scheme raises over £20,000
Our annual Christmas Treecycling scheme has once again proven a big success. More than £20,000 was raised - enough to keep our entire services running for 48 hours!
Volunteers collected and shredded over 1,000 Christmas trees from homes, schools and businesses in North Hertfordshire and surrounding areas in exchange for a donation.

Erman Housein is Head of Business Development at Garden House Hospice Care:
"The service offers a real sense of community from start to finish - from removing the hassle people face of disposing of their Christmas trees and offering an environmentally solution, to funding our vital care and providing chippings for use in our own gardens. So it’s a win-win for all involved.
"This is our most successful year of Christmas Treecycling yet and we are confident that it will only continue to grow next year as more people come to know about it!"
The Hospice would like to thank Vanstone Park Garden Centre for sponsoring the service; Settle Group for shredding the trees and Standalone Farm for providing the space to shred the trees.
Joe Williams is Director of Housing at settle:
"It's been great to see our colleagues going out to support the Hospice's tree collection and shredding again this year, something I know they really value doing. It also helps create awareness of the brilliant service the local hospice provides to the neighbourhoods where our residents live. The eco-friendly chippings will also be used on pathways around Standalone Farm."
Garden House Hospice Care also extended their thanks to the following companies and individuals who volunteered to help with collections: Surface Magician Herts, Dormakaba, House Gardens Ltd, Lannock Christmas Trees, John O’Conner Grounds Maintenance Ltd, Branching Out Tree and Garden Services, Evolution Tree Works, Ricky Cooper, Richard Harbon
A number of local companies, including Dormakaba and House Gardens Ltd, chipped in with collecting trees
