Your legacy will shine on: The importance of gifts in wills
When you were little, you may have dreamed of changing the world. We watch our loved ones grow and try to be a guiding light. We may wish to leave something behind to keep them supported. And then there’s making an impact in the community. It’s never too late to change the lives of those around you. Because everybody matters.
A legacy is a gift that is left in a will, allowing you to state that, after you die, a sum of money or a % of your estate can be given to a person, charity or organisation.
In the last five years we have gratefully received 122 legacies from the local community, totalling a phenomenal £4,157,901. These gifts have ranged from £26 to £478,566, which just shows how your gift really can be any size. If you chose to leave Garden House Hospice Care a legacy gift, it may brighten many lives.
Legacies allow us to not only fund our services today, but secure our future.
Kerry Cunnane who is Legacy Manager at the Hospice, said:
“We are immensely grateful for gifts of all sizes. The money people leave to the Hospice after they have passed ensures our services, including the Inpatient Unit, Wellbeing Hubs and counselling for example, are always available. They make so much difference to the local community.”
