Lisa started her career as a trained nurse specialising in palliative care, working in hospices and as a Macmillan nurse. She has since set up her own consultancy specialising in interim executive improvement director roles but has also had several positions within the NHS at board level including Chief Operating Officer at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust and Managing Director at Mid Essex Hospitals. Most recently she has been working at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

Lisa said: "It is a huge privilege and honour to be appointed CEO of Garden House Hospice Care and to be returning to the sector where my nursing career started. It's obvious that Garden House Hospice Care holds a special place in the heart of the community it serves and for the staff and volunteers who work here.

"My role now is to build on the outstanding legacy left by Sue Plummer during her seven years as CEO and my challenge is to ensure our services deliver outstanding care in an ever-changing environment, available to everyone who needs us - both now and in the future - and I'm excited to help preserve and enhance the Hospice's exceptional reputation as a provider of vital care in our community."

Garden House Hospice Care's chair of trustees, Steve Mellish, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Lisa as the new CEO of Garden House Hospice Care and very much look forward to working with her. Lisa's lengthy and successful career spans over 35 years within and across the NHS at all levels. She will bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience that will help build on our achievements to date and lead us forward as we get underway with our new strategy."
