Our Stevenage Oval shop has been nominated for an award and needs your votes!

Our wonderful shop located in The Oval shopping centre in Stevenage has been nominated for ‘The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop’ award. Nominated by anonymous members of the public, the team is absolutely thrilled to be one of the six charity shops shortlisted for the East of England.

Junior House at our Stevenage Oval shop was created with children in mind and is full to the brim with adorable, affordable fashion from 0-15 years. As well as children’s items, the shop also stocks a generous amount of both women and menswear, bric-a-brac and even bridalwear.

Shop Manager Melody Banks and Assistant Managers Katie Houchen and Janet Bucknell were absolutely thrilled to receive the nomination:

“We were so touched because this is voted for by customers or volunteers, it means a lot knowing that it’s our supporters that have put us forward for this because the whole team works really hard.

“It’s an acknowledgement of what we do, and it not only benefits the Hospice, but also the community.

“It is so lovely for our volunteers as well, we genuinely couldn’t do it without them. We really are such a busy shop, and we sell a lot of units, so our volunteers don’t come in and just sit and drink tea. They are working their socks off non-stop. They are always available covering our shifts when we get stuck, they are just an amazing team.”

“The team of staff are amazing - supporting every customer and the local community. They are friendly, happy and caring and know every customer by name. They often put on events to not only raise more money, but to give the community something to look forward too. Customers visit daily.”1
