Payroll Giving
An easy, tax-efficient way to make a regular donation to Garden House Hospice Care.
Payroll Giving (also known as 'Give as You Earn') schemes allow employees to give to the charity of their choice on a recurring basis. By getting on board in support of Garden House Hospice Care, a regular gift will be taken from your salary prior to tax being deducted. This means that depending on the tax rate you pay, your donation will cost you up to 50% less. Or, to look at it the other way, we will receive up to 50% more than you donate.
Either way, payroll giving is a brilliant, tax-efficient way to make your money go even further toward helping us provide our vital, palliative care in North Hertfordshire and surrounding towns and villages.

Get started
Information for employees
To get started, speak to your employer to find out whether they already run a payroll giving scheme and how to sign up. You will be in control of choosing your charity and how much you want to regularly give, and aside from filling out a registration form, that should be all you need to do!
Your regular gift will then be automatically deducted from your salary (before tax and after national insurance) and distributed to Garden House Hospice Care.
Information for employers
To set up a payroll giving scheme at your company, you will need to register with an approved Payroll giving Agency (PGA) on the HMRC website.
Once employees have signed up, you will deduct their donation amount every payroll run (before tax and after national insurance) and make a payment to your selected PGA. The funds will then be distributed to their chosen charity.
Every employer offering a Payroll Giving scheme can access Quality Marks and Excellence Awards from their PGA.
