Senior Healthcare Assistant - Community Team
We are looking for Senior Healthcare Assistants to join our wonderful community team to contribute to the provision of high-quality holistic care for patients at home.
Who are we and what do we do?
We are Garden House Hospice Care, the Hospice for North Hertfordshire. We are a multi award-winning hospice that puts the patient at the heart of everything we do. We are the pioneers of a nationally recognised and innovative frailty service, working with the Lister Hospital, which has seen us expanding our services and helping even more patients through symptom control, reablement or last days of life care. We are looking for people with the right skills and experience to become part of our amazing team and help us as we grow even further!
What does a Senior Healthcare Assistant do?
Your main responsibilities will be to assist with patients’ personal care, helping to move, position and mobilise patients and observing their general condition in line with the care plan, reporting any changes as required. What skills does a Senior Healthcare Assistant need?
- An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification and previous experience in a health care setting.
- You should also be aware of the physical and emotional needs of patients suffering from a life-limiting illness and those of their relatives and carers and be kind and caring in your approach.
- Good teamwork and the ability to work a full range of shifts between the hours of 08.00- 21.30 (including some weekends) on a rota basis. We offer generous enhancements for evenings and weekends.
- You will need to hold a UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle for business purposes - mileage expenses will be paid.
