Hub Compassionate Neighbour

What you can expect…

Can you spare a few hours a week to make a real difference in someone's life? As a Wellbeing Hub Compassionate Neighbour, you'll ensure community members enjoy their time at our Wellbeing Hubs. You'll be part of a bigger team in helping the local community to become less lonely and/or socially isolated.

How you can help…

• Help set up the chairs at the beginning of the hub ready for the seated exercise
• Meet and greet community members with a welcoming smile
• Ensure the community members have signed in and confirmed whether or not they are fit to take part in the seated exercise, and make sure they sign out at the end of the hub
• Give everyone a badge to wear throughout the hub session, and collect this back at the end of the session
• Assist any community members that may need pushing in a wheelchair or standing close by whilst the walk into the hub
• Prepare the kitchen, ready for the refreshments. Put out the mugs, tea pots, cakes, biscuits etc
• Sign any birthday cards which will be presented to the community member by the Hub Co-ordinator
• After the seated exercise rearrange the chairs and gets tables out
• Help to serve teas, coffees etc
• Get the activity ready if there has been one arranged
• Sit down with the community members and chat and be a listening ear if they need to talk
• Help clear up at the end of the Hub and put away the table and chairs
• Assist the community members in leaving the hub and making sure they have had a good time
• Support the Hub Co-ordinator in anything needed.
