About the course:
A one day course to help participants develop an understanding of pain pathways and how to manage pain in palliative care to improve quality of life for patients.
What will I learn?
By the end of the sessions participants will be able to:
- Understand the key role and importance of a good assessment
- State the key principles of the management of pain in palliative care
- Have an awareness of the common drugs used
- Acknowledge the role of adjuvants in managing pain
- Have an understanding of drug conversions when the oral route is not appropriate
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at Band 5/6 staff nurses.
