11th Wellbeing Hub launched in Knebworth
Garden House Hospice Care is delighted to have launched a new Wellbeing Hub in Knebworth. The first session took place on Wednesday 21st August at St Martin's Parish Centre.
The new Knebworth Hub is the 11th run by the Hospice. Led by volunteer Compassionate Neighbours, these weekly drop in sessions offer the opportunity for attendees to join in a seated exercise class, take part in creative and fun activities that promote health and wellbeing, and talk and be listened to by the Hospice's team members.
Ian Allinson is Wellbeing Hub Coordinator at Garden House Hospice Care:
"Today has been a fantastic success and a great step in meeting the growing needs in our community. Numbers will only continue to grow in the next couple of weeks and we can't wait to have regular members attending."

Helen Collins, Wellbeing Hub Administrator, added:
"The hubs are such a great way for people to get out and about, chat amongst themselves and enjoy each other's company. It's something for everyone in the community to look forward to - the highlight of the week for some people!"
As well as being crucial in reducing loneliness and social isolation in our local community, the hubs help our teams identify more people who would be suitable for our care. They provide community members with an avenue into our services should they need them.
In line with the Frailty Service, which launched at the start of 2024, our plan was to have 12 weekly hubs up and running in North Hertfordshire and surrounding areas this year. Based on the success of the first Knebworth session, we are confident we will exceed this aim.
